Sustainable CBD only utilizes the most superior extraction method to create the safest and most effective CBD products.
The are are two main methods of extracting CBD from hemp: Ethanol extraction and CO2 extraction. Our lab experts use the supercritical CO2 extraction method to organically produce pure plant extracts without the use of hazardous chemicals and solvents. At Sustainable CBD, we believe the CO2 extraction process is the purest and safest method. It gives us the ability to create premium CBD products that you can trust without worrying about potentially harmful residual solvents.
The second method, Ethanol extraction typically involves heating the plant material and then soaking the material in ethanol for a certain period of time. After extraction, the solution is filtered to separate the liquid from the plant matter. The liquid is then left uncovered to allow the ethanol to evaporate. The raw material must be filtered further to remove residual ethanol, which reduces the purity and potency of the final CBD product. Ethanol extraction also eliminates terpenes, which are natural compounds found in hemp that are believed to have additional healing properties. Although the ethanol extraction method produces a greater quantity of CBD in each batch, Sustainable CBD does not believe in compromising quality over quantity.
